recently, i've read some articles criticizing ian's acting on Kampanera. While these people have every right to express what they think, i think it's unfair for Christian not to be given chance to improve before judging him.
Because of this, i've decided to open this topic here where you may share your thoughts... nothing rude though please... criticisms are allowed but let's not be vulgar...
i'll print it for ian to read. that's one great thing about him, he knows how to listen and appreciate all comments for his improvement. He works really hard to give what the people want.

For me Ian is just starting. And as a new actor he really showed his potentials. Though in KK Lorenzo's character is so hushed, but I think that's really Lorenzo is, he just need a more challenging LINES.
With regards to his delivery of the lines, he should act more comfortable coz he sometimes sounds like he's acting on a stage.
But for me, he's so entertaining and there's a lot for Ian to show up to the Filipino viewers!!! Keep it up Ian.
Oh, btw my friends would love to see him more often in KK!

parang medyo stiff sya minsan. tsaka parang di natural yung pagdeliver ng lines. sana maimprove nya yun.
tapos sana maimprove din yung character ni lorenzo. parang di masyado napapakita na may gusto sya kay imang eh. at sana marami pang kanta kasi dun naman talaga sya magaling eh. pero sa tingin ko naman, pwede pang gumaling si christian kung may maayos na training... kaya lang parang sobrang busy ata siya eh.
seeing Christian on the screen is a big TREAT to me already, how much more if he can really learn the ropes of acting on TV.
the other comment is correct, Christian can be "more natural" - he needs to internalize his role more... I just don't know how it's done, maybe the gap in the taping scheds (and the many other singing stints in between tapings) can be a reason. A workshop maybe?
Nevertheless, Ian... we like you, as you are (the romantic balladeer) .... if we can see you more often, acting on screen, that's a REAL BONUS!

As for me, I think kuya Ian is doing finr in acting. I love the scenes where it's him, Pablo, and Imang together. Those are the funny scenes. I guess the reason why I think Kuya Ian isn't bad at acting is because I don't know fully about the character, Lorenzo. You might never know, the way how Kuya Ian is acting in KK is the way how Lorenzo's personality is. Gets? ^_^
Anyways, good luck to kuya ian and God bless! I'll continue to pray for you.
My comments: (1) I think yung character development ni Lorenzo eh medyo malabo, parang di maipakita where his goodness is coming from and why he loves Imang. Compare it, say, sa character ni John Lloyd sa Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin...you understand where his character is coming from (kahit di mo man mapanood to lagi). Kaya minsan parang ang hirap makarelate sa character ni Lorenzo. Attention, KK Scriptwriter/s!! (2) It's good that he is given an opportunity to sing, he seems to convey his emotions better when he sings. Maybe Ian can try visualizing himself "singing" his lines para mas maipakita nya yung kanyang emosyon when he delivers his lines in KK? (3) He needs to work on being more "natural" - I guess you could attribute that to his training on stage, kasi some theater actors, like Malou (isa sa mga madre) and Soxie Topacio started out on screen as a bit stiff. Sa theater kasi you have to exaggerate your movements and utilize your voice more than your facial expression. With a little more training, he can easily overcome this. Overall, Christian's acting is passable for a newcomer. Hindi siya OA, hindi rin camera-conscious, at hindi bulol magdeliver ng lines.
I love watching Christian in KK every night and for me he is doing a great job.
With regards to these negative writeups, im hoping that this is not part of any unfair moves against Christian.These write ups came from email with unknown identity it will be more realistic if it came from somebody 'who has a say' in the industry.I think this is what success and stardom is all about to have detractors.
For Christian, we will support you all the way. We know that you are not only doing these for yourself but also for us - your FANS. We do appreciate all these and we are happy for you.

Kuya Ian is doing fine at acting. I actually think he is doing a better job than Patrick Garcia. How long has Patrick been on acting business, but he hasn't improved. Well , I don't see improvements. Unlike John Lloyd, he improved a lot. If this message can reach Patrick, please tell him to improve.
I think they should show more about Lorenzo because his part of the story in KK is sort of unclear. They should give us more info rather than liking Imang. Is it ok that this is my second post? hehehe
I think he's decent, but there's definitely room for improvement. There always is. I think it's not all his fault naman. I agree with those na nagsabi na his character needs to be developed pa. He should definitely have better lines (and scenes!) so he can prove naysayers wrong.
hmm...honestly..dunno what to say..i actually enjoy the comedy of the Lorenzo/Pablo thing..swear.. can't help laughing..i actually got almost half of my block watching KK because of those parts of the show..
i'm not trying to be biased here or sumthing..but i think kuya ian's doing pretty well in acting..i mean it depends on how you see things..just as everyone said, there is still a big room for improvement..si kuya ian pa!? he never fails us..but then maybe that's really Lorenzo's character..i guess we just have to keep watch of the next scenes and episodes to find out what happens next..
yes it does seem that his role is too idealistic..but for me, that's what gives the whole story balance..that's why it's a story!! haha..yah can't run from being idealistic..no one can.. everyone imagines of someone(as gwapo, mabait, maka-diyos, and magaling kumanta!)as lorenzo in their life..

and yes, the Lorenzo character is really, well.."too good to be true" to the point na it's becoming dull na..kumbaga, it doesn't have any spice...kaya nga mas kinikilig ako sa Pablo-Imang loveteam...and Rain was right, we dnt really know where/how Lorenzo's love for Imang started...like the scene last night.Imang asked about his past relationships/ex girlfriends and he said that they were all pretty but they all left him...ok na sana eh..i thought he was going to justify his feelings na, kaso, when Imang told him "kaya ka ba naghahanap ng pangit ngaun?"...he plainly said "hinde..dahil mahal kita"...duh! that was really lame...cnt the scriptwriters think of anything else?!
buti na lng at kumakanta si Lorenzo...dun lng kc sya bumabawi..the "kilig" factor only comes out when he's singing...
speaking of singin...do you really want to act full-time? i hope you wouldn't take your singing career for granted...sayang nman kc coz that's what you do best.. i hope you'd still make singing your top priority...bago pa makalimutan ng mga tao na singer ka tlga at hindi artista.

medyo boring nga yung character ni lorenzo..masyadong good boy(natural! kw ba nman tumira sa simbahan eh!)...may mga scenes nman na ok cya eh..wag sana ntn kalimutan na c lorenzo, hndi nakakapag-salita dati..at hndi napaliwanag yun sa pagpapatuloy ng story..meaning..bka ma-reveal din yun sa kalagitnaan..pede pang pag-laruan yung character nya.
if you can still remember yung role ni bea alonzo as katrina argos sa kay tagal kng hinintay..nag-start cya as boring..ni hndi mo nga cya naramdaman dba??? and look kung pano naging develpment ng character nya....dun pa cya nakilala dba???

Considering that this is Ian's first tv acting stint, i think, he should at least be given a chance to adjust and develop his skills in acting (on tv that is).
I don't watch kk that much coz' we don't have tfc but for some feedbacks that i've heard from some filipinos here in dubai, he's really good for a first timer in a telenovela. My advice is (advice daw oh, hehehe:-)), try to be more like your character, be the character, explore what the character (lorenzo) could do, or try thinking that if your lorenzo, what would you do for a certain situation then act. Don't depend too much on the scripts, it would make it unrealistic if you go line/line, no emotions on that. Just be natural.(natutunan ko to sa school, basic acting class usls bac. hope it helps)---Don't rush it, it will come eventually. Your already good, you just have to be more comfortable. Relax--- Good Luck!!! Hope I can watch KK again sometime..hehe
although i think it's unfair to judge christian's acting, still he can improve. he has ventured into the world of showbiz and things here are all integrated. of course we don't expect him to be a natural! his forte is singing. although i know that he has done theatre stuff before, still he was more focused on the singing part of it. Lorenzo's character isn't helping either. it's kinda boring. perhaps the scriptwriters should improve Lorenzo's lines too, so we can see and experience the depth of his character. some "kilig" parts with imang were effective. they look so cute together. that's all i gotta say for now. i hope to see a deeper Lorenzo, not just Lorenzo, the childhood friend of Imang who has been in love with her ever since.
I first said that Kuya Ian was doing great in playing Lorenzo. Then I thought about what other people said and try to see things from their point of view. Some people said he needs improvement, so I saw it from their point of view and that's also what I started thinking. Sometimes we think from people's points of view without knowing it. Example, we watch KK and we get kilig with Imang and Lorenzo and we also like it when Lorenzo sings. When we start to know what people think (which isn't a bad thing), we start to think like them. The thing is, we always enjoy KK when we watch it and then change opinions afterwards.
There are two ways to look at the show. The first is watch it for the story and not the character much. The second, is watch it and look at the way how the the people would act their character.
When we pay more attention to the story, the more better everything is. We also don't see much about whether the characters are good or not. When we pay more attention to the people that is acting their character, then the show and story isn't enjoyed as much.
I watch KK every weekdays and I pay attention to the CHARACTERS and the story.
Think about this and it'll start to make sense. Actors/actresses are different people from characters they are playing. You gets the whole thing I said?
Anyways, So I think Kuya I doing juss fine. Through all the 'seeing from other people's opinion' thing, Kuya Ian did improve. What I want to see now is Lorenzo to cry. hehehe. I wonder if that'll happen.
Maganda yung acting nya sa date scene ah... may pagka-cheesy lang yung ibang lines (KK scriptwriter/s! attention muli!).. I wish mangyari sa character ni Lorenzo yung nangyari sa character ni Bea Alonzo before sa previous soap nya (gaya nga ng nasabi ni jerome...).. Pero di ko nafeel yung "tension" nung madiskubre nyang wala na ang korona ng birhen at gisingin niya ang mga madre... and nalito ko dun sa kung san ba sya pinalo, ulo ba or likod? kasi nung magkamalay sya, para syang iika-ika na masakit ang likod. Pero nung kausap na niya si Imang, yung ulo niya ang hinahawakan niya na parang masakit.
Anyway, Ian is improving compared to his previous acting and sabi ng mga kasama ko sa trabaho na di naman fans ni Ian, he's acting is good despite being a newbie on screen. Maganda ang chemistry ni Lorenzo at Imang compared to Pablo-Imang. Funny yung love triangle nila. I wonder if the people behind the shows will give him "crying lessons"...accdg to my cousin when she was with star studio, may inaaral daw sila before na standard na iyak -- di nagugusot ang mukha habang tumutulo ang luha. Pero may emosyon pa rin dapat. Tapos kailangan controlled, pag sinabi daw sa isang mata lang, isang mata lang. Pag sinabi sa parehong mata, parehong mata dapat. Hirap, noh? But I'm sure pag pinagawa kay Ian to eh kayang-kaya. He has never disappointed us with his passion to improve himself. (Ako di ko kaya, kaya nga di ako nag-artista eh...wehehehehe).
well, no one's good at everything! esp when you're a first-timer! besides, even the best actor in the world will still have "room for improvement". i personally think you're awesome so please dont let those negative comments put you down cause it definitely shouldnt cause they aint worth u feelin sad over =P anyways, most importantly, have fun in whatever you do and when you do something, give it your best. now that's what's important =)
For me, christian as a new actor, parang tama lng...maasaya ako pagnankikita ko xa, maganda din yong love triangle nila ni Pablo at mas kilig ako lalo na pagkumakanta sya.. sa acting, k lng ganon lng siguro ang character ni Lorenzo... kasi para sa akin, the BEST sya... mas magaling pa syang umarte ky Patrick,kita nyo nmn siguro...

I like Christian as a singer. He's really good. But as an actor,I'm sorry to say this but he's bad. Really, really bad. I have to admit tho that even before KK started I rooted for him, I was very excited to see him act and I had such high expectations for his Lorenzo character in KK. But oh boy, was I disappointed or what? Knowing that he's just a beginner, I gave him a chance to improve his acting. But he never improved. In fact, he got worse. Whenever he delivers his lines he sounds as though he's reciting a poem or something and his facial expression never changes. His so called great love for Imang, I dunno, for some reason I just can't feel it. He's way too stiff and his character is as dull as his acting. Isn't he a threatre actor or something? Hello? I can't believe they continue to let him act in the threatre. And to the directors of KK, goodness, I can't believe you guys are letting him get away with his bland acting. Seriously, this is not on and you better do something about it ASAP before people forget he's a good singer and they start hating him for his acting.

The character and the actor are two different people. So I luv watching KK. My heart beats fast when Lorenzo says how much he loves Imang. Soo much loove. Probably that's why the acting is bland and stale, because Lorenzo is sad that Imang is gone! aawwww! I think Kuya Ian is doing a great job. If he improves, then the better! I do see improvements. I don't expect too much because he is new and the latest singer to act. The one I don't like is Patrick. He's been on tv since he was young and he's still bad at acting! Kuya Jude, if you print these new posts out for Kuya Ian again, can you tell Kuya Ian to tell Patrick what I said, hehehe. Patrick needs improvements. August 17 today -- watched KK last night after many nights of missing it, late naman kse! and as I know without doubt, our boy, has improved so much in his acting since his first few appearance on KK. I particularly liked his delivery of his lines when the beautiful Imang ran to him, hugging him and he said "Miss, hindi ko matandaan nagkakilala na tayo minsan (or something like that)"... facial expression was good! ... and then his confused look as he walks away from Imang....
Lapit na maging BEST ACTOR ang lolo ko...
kainiz lang kse, so brief lang appearance nya in every episode, haba-haba pag si Lourdes at Lucia,
sabi nga ng husband ko "sweetheart, fast-forward mo na, wala naman fans yang dalawang 'yan, iyak pa ng iyak" nyehehehehe... as if pwd i fast-forward!
