PLDT My Music
“I am at wave now pldt live chat”-ian
This text came from ian out of the blue. I didn’t know what to say so I just replied
“Ok…”-jude
After a few more seconds, my mind started working and I realized that there was a subliminal message to the one he sent me, which completes it to something like
“I am at wave now pldt live chat [tune in and ask everyone to listen too]”-ian, (additional words supplied by the author, but you already know that.)
So I sent a message to some folks whom I knew would spread the word
“Ian at Wave now. Pls pass.”-jude
Sure enough, I got several messages afterwards bearing the same text I sent. Thanks again to all those dependable people.
Ian began singing one of his songs (invincible, I think). Unfortunately, you can barely hear him coz the music was drowning his voice so I sent jhune a message.
“Jhune, nalulunod boses ni ian sa sound.”-jude
To which jhune replied
“tawag kayo dito.”-jhune
I said,
“ok. Ano number?”-jude
He replied,
“101123”-jhune
So, I picked up the landline and dialed the number. Aba! Kala ko number lang ng Wave. Pldt My music na pala! Mahal pala yun! 50 bucks! But since I was already being charged, might as well go through with it. I was put on hold by an automated response machine (it was nice by the way, listening to snippets of ian’s 1st album while waiting). I texted jhune again coz I heard that the DJ was hoping to see us again that night. Why? Coz we spilled stuff on Ian first time he was there. Apparently, she remembered us. I can’t say the same for me… I didn’t remember her name. Hehe.
“jhune, ano nga ulit name nung dj?”-jude
“pam”-jhune
“ang tagal ko nang nakahold dito ah.”-jude (I wasn’t listening intently to the registration process, ergo, I didn’t know whether I was being billed 50/call or 50/minute… I hope it’s the former)
“pang-ilan ka? 2 lng nkahold d2.”-jhune
“ewan. Basta sabi lang nakahold daw ako.”-jude
Just after I sent that message, a voice talked to me and said
“hi!”-voice
“hi, uhm, is this pldt live chat? The one with Christian Bautista?”-jude
“yes”-voice (monosyllabic answers yata ang training sa taong ito)
“ah ok. Are you pam?”-jude
“no.”-voice (see… monosyllabic replies lang yata talaga)
“ok”-jude (nakigaya na lang ako)
After a while she talked to me again, asking me
“what’s your name?”-voice (aba, three syllables yun ah! But then again, she wasn’t answering a question)
“jude.”-jude (duh!)
“jude, ikaw na susunod after this call ha. I’ll just put you on hold.”-voice
“ok, thanks.”-jude
Right then, I almost began to panic… what the heck am I going to ask ian that I don’t already know and wouldn’t make him kill me if I ask. Ah! Heaven opened and blessed me… I’ll just cue ian to talk about the foundation! Meanwhile, as I was having this epiphany, the girl who was currently on air was detailing all the stuff she knows about Ian.
When I finally was on air, I said hi to pam first and told her I was one of the CFs who went there before. Ian then said that I sounded familiar (it’s a joke of course cause we never met… bwahahaha). I then told him that I also knew a lot about him and asked him if he wanted me to share the info. His answer was a resounding
“No!”-ian
So basically, all I did was laugh and greet people (mean was the 1st to ask if I could greet her over the radio). Then when ian asked me what was up, I cued him to talking about the foundation. Thank God he got it so my only job was to say “yeah!” At some point however he asked what the full name of the foundation was again so I answered
“The Christian Bautista and Friends Foundation Inc.”-jude (naks naman! May pawndeysyon!)
Then Ian went on about how we were no longer just a fan club and invited everyone to join us in our activities. For some weird reason, however, all the callers had to sing with him on air! I wasn’t told about this! I thought the girl who called before me did it to win an autographed CD. Since it was evident that I knew ian personally and thus already had one, I thought that I would be exempt from the singing. I guess not! But should I really expose my hidden talent (which in my opinion should remain hidden, buried under the earth together with Pandora’s Box, to be exposed only in times of shower and occasional magicsing sessions with friends)? I tried changing the topic, but ian saw right through it….dang! So he suggested I sing TWYLAM since we gave him that Heartfelt tribute and all. Earth to Ian, I am neither ned nor aina… I hosted in that part not sang in it. But, of course I gave in. Hahaha! Pakipot pa eh no? I sang the first two lines of the chorus and stopped. Ian however urged me on to finish the whole thing so I did. After that, a few more laughs and greetings and I said bye. I didn’t finish the show anymore coz PBB was already starting. I just texted ian asking if I won the CD. Haha!
Daming nagtext… gushing about how good I was and that I should already sign a record deal with warner… Uy, nagfi-feeling. Hahahaha. Pero di nga, dami nagtext. It was fun while I did it. It’s been so long since I did that, calling over the radio I mean. 1st year high school pa lang ako nung huli kong gawin yun.
When we saw each other the next day at the Pavillion, Ian informed me that I did win the CD and that he’ll get it for me if I won’t be able to come next Friday… Hello?! Kukunin ko kaya. We actually have an office at the 3rd floor of the building where Wave is located. Kaya next week, live na ako sa radio! Wahoo! Wait for my guesting ha! Tapos call in to talk to me na lang and not Ian. Hahahaha!
That’s all, folks! I thank you… bow.
Coz there’s something in the way you look at me
It’s as if my heart knows you’re the missing piece
You make me believe that there’s nothing in this world I can’t be
I never know what you see but there’s something in the way you look at me
I’d better give ricky ilacad that return call he’s expecting regarding the details of my recording contract.
“Whatever!”-jude
